Mary Lou Pauly was elected Mayor of the City of Issaquah in 2018.
Mayor Pauly, and her family were captured by the beauty of Issaquah when they arrived in 1993. Issaquah is blessed with mountains, clean water, and abundant forests that offer amazing outdoor recreation opportunities. Her 27 years in Issaquah have given Mary Lou an appreciation for all that needs to be protected for future generations.
Mayor Pauly has a background in civil engineering and has worked in both the public and private sector as a Public Works Engineer and an Environmental Engineering Consultant. Her community service prior to becoming Mayor includes a term on the Issaquah City Council, and 20 years of service on City Boards, Commissions and Task Forces.
Mary Lou and her husband Karl raised their two children, KJ and Kaela, in the Woods neighborhood on Squak Mountain. Now she and Karl enjoy living in the Olde Town neighborhood.
